Getting started

Here I am again...taking this weight loss road. This time I want to be helpful to others while they help me. I named this LOSER CHICKS because we are chicks and I want us to LOSE the WEIGHT, LOSE the inches, LOSE the LOW SELF ESTEEM, LOSE the BAD HABITS, and in return GAIN confidence, GAIN new habits, GAIN new friends, GAIN the things we have each personally LOST over time that we want back.
I will post daily thoughts, tips, comments, challenges, etc. please join in. Feel free to invite other friends!

I am asking everyone to comment back with your first goal:
1. What do you want by Feb. 14th?

Also comment back each Monday with your "tale from the scale" just how much you lose/gain do not feel you need to leave the actual weight number

  3. My goal is to lose 10 lbs by Feb 14th. I do not have a scale right now, but I am going to buy one and start weighing in as soon as possible. I am also going to start with 20 minutes a day of exercise and increase from there.

  5. My goal is 5 lbs by Feb 14. My total goal is 15 lbs - but my real goal is to lose those 15 and keep them off all year. I'm already off to a bad start though - I forgot to weigh this morning. But last time I weighed (just before christmas) I was 139.7. I'll weigh in again tomorrow morning and report in. I may actually do a daily report of my weight, just for my own records.
I plan on doing so by predominantly decreasing caloric intake. I lost 12 lbs the last several month doing it, but gained 5 back over the holidays.

I eat a small breakfast (200 calories or less) , then a 300 calorie or less frozen lunch (healthy choice, smartones, etc.) Then I try to keep my dinner to less than 500 calories. Last summer I made a lot of progress by eating a lot of fruits and veggies. Since it's more a veggie time of year right now, I'll be focusing on those. Which usualy means a full on vegetarian dinner most nights.

  6. My total goal is to lose 45 lbs. I would like to lose at least 10 lbs by Feb 14th.

I would like to say my doctor recently told me she thinks I am pre-diabetic. It was very hard to hear and really scary for me. Also I have been taking blood pressure medicine for about a month now. I have been facing a lot a big things lately. I have a really big motivator to get healthy, but I have noticed in the last year & a half that I do not have the same will power I used to. So, Thank you Cheryl for thinking of others in your effort to become healthy. I really hope this will help me be accountable and will make the difference for me.

O & this morning my 'scale' said I had lost 2.4 lbs, but I'm pretty sure that is because I hadn't eaten anything yet. =)

  7. Tale from the scale...

I started my gym routine a few days before Christmas and started South Beach on Saturday and my scale is down 2-3 lbs. I need to get one of those nifty scales that does ounces and all!

I'm only doing South Beach for 10 days. I've done it in the past and had success and The Doctors (what a great tv show!) said it was a good diet to jump start yourself! Then I plan on doing a low fat/lower calorie diet. After I take one splurge dinner for my husbands birthday, January 7th.
